‘Time To Think’ begins with the crunch of gravel underfoot, takes in birdsong, waves lapping on a shore and creaking stairs, and ends with the sound of the wind in a clock tower. These calming recordings are among the 13 tracks of an album capturing the treasures of the National Trust in sound. Created with the help of former Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker, the 33-minute album is ‘designed to showcase the peace and tranquillity people enjoy when they visit the special places cared for by the National Trust,’ according to a spokesman for the charity which looks after more than 300 historic sites.
